The S4F regional group in Bielefeld currently works in three working groups: Science communication/climate pathway, sustainability topics in teaching, climate protection and sustainability internally. The Vegan Ethical University Group (VETHO) campaigns for animal ethics, animal rights and sustainability at Bielefeld University. Its aim is to draw attention to the problem of animal exploitation and to highlight alternatives to a lifestyle based on animal suffering.
To this end, the group has already organised chalk campaigns in Bielefeld city centre and is on site at the university with waffle and information stands.

In future, they would also like to organise lectures, film evenings, discussions and cooking events to raise awareness and enthusiasm for a vegan, ethical and sustainable way of life.

They represent progressive and left-wing values, are against discrimination and want to make a joint contribution to a fairer world - for animals and the environment.

Qr Code Whatsapp group

The group meets every 4th Friday of the month at 18:00 at the university.

The Ökoref is not a group in which you can get actively involved. However, you can always get in touch with the officers with ideas, plans or suggestions.

The Department of Ecology, Nature and Climate Protection has set itself the goal of raising awareness of the environment and climate among students and helping to make the university more sustainable. To this end, lectures and workshops are held to inform students about the causes and consequences of climate change. The advantages of environmentally friendly behaviour in consumption and everyday life are also highlighted. In addition, sustainability is to be integrated even more into the areas of teaching, research and operations at the university, with the aim of creating a comprehensive network of all ecology-related departments at the university in order to ensure a better exchange of information and cooperation.

There is also a fair divider in front of the AStA [Student Union]. Food can be saved there in a fridge and on a shelf. All important information on usage can be found here.

The AStA [Student Union] also has a bicycle self-help workshop, the Rad(t)schlag. Bicycles can be repaired there with support.
